Dean, College of Innovation & Technology
University of Michigan-Flint

As the College of Innovation & Technology (CIT) inaugural dean, I have a unique opportunity to begin a legacy at the University of Michigan-Flint. Preparing for the opening of a new college in the midst of a global pandemic is a testament to the resilience that is synonymous with Flint. COVID-19 challenged us in every way imaginable, but the community stood with us and joined in welcoming our first cohort to CIT this fall. I am reaching out to you with the hope that you will continue your support by making a gift today.

Workforce development is a guiding principle of CIT. Students experience a hands-on, project-based learning environment that has been developed in close cooperation with our industry partners. Another important piece of the learning environment is internships—the value of which cannot be underestimated. In a highly competitive job market, an internship can be the deciding factor that distinguishes a CIT graduate. This is a big reason behind the growth of internship opportunities becoming a key part of the college experience. At UM-Flint, we pride ourselves on the diverse student population our programs attract. Each student is unique and will face different barriers to overcome in their academic career. Your donation will ensure these barriers do not impede a student from completing an internship. Whether it provides transportation, assisting with the cost of living during an unpaid internship, or helps build a student’s first professional wardrobe, your gift can change a student’s experience.

Thank you for believing in CIT. The creation of this college would not have been possible without your support, and we are grateful for your generosity. I ask that you continue to support our students by giving to one of the funds listed.

Sincerely,
