
Hong Kong Alumni Scholarship Fund
History
The U-M Hong Kong Alumni Scholarship Fund was established in 2010 by the U-M alumni community in Hong Kong, this scholarship aims to help talented undergraduate students who attended secondary school in Hong Kong pursue their dreams at the University of Michigan.
Purpose
The Hong Kong Alumni Scholarship Fund will be used to support undergraduate level students who have shown perseverance overcoming hardships, including financial circumstances, in attending the program of their choice.
These students and scholars will add to the already robust global community of teaching and learning, all while pursuing extraordinary education. Moreover, their successes on campus and as alumni will enhance U-M’s reputation as they become thought leaders, in their respective regions and globally.
Criteria
CRITERIA
The scholarship will be awarded to entering undergraduate students who have completed their secondary education in Hong Kong. The intention of this scholarship is to encourage outstanding students to attend The University of Michigan by offsetting costs incurred throughout this process. Candidates from all backgrounds and scholarly interests will be considered.
Fund Type – Endowed
The scholarship will be endowed with support from alumni and friends wishing to support students that match the criteria outlined above.
Recognition
The Office of Financial Aid will be responsible for carrying out the intended purpose of the fund. In accordance with University procedure, donors will be recognized by suitable means, and will be periodically notified of fund recipients and impact.
