I hope this letter finds you and your loved ones well. Even though 2020 has been full of challenges for all of us, the University of Michigan Ross School of Business remains as focused as ever on our mission to build a better world through business. We are developing the next generation of business leaders who will change the world in positive and profound ways for generations to come, and as someone who has supported Michigan Ross in the past, you play an essential role in helping us with this important work.

Your gifts have helped Ross attract and develop some of the brightest and most creative minds in business. Together, with your support, we have developed innovative learning experiences that are establishing a new standard of excellence in business education. Furthermore, your gifts have supported faculty whose research is shaping the most important conversations in business and society. Your generosity has helped elevate our reputation globally and will enable us to take advantage of future opportunities.

Today, I invite you to please make a contribution to the Michigan Ross Annual Fund, which supports the following areas:

  • Student Support: A Ross education can change a student’s life and open up possibilities that our students cannot even imagine today. The Annual Fund supports our World of Difference Scholarship, which enables us to attract the next generation of leaders, support students who need financial assistance, and provide a world-class education to the next generation of business leaders.
  • Learning Experiences: Some of the most important benefits of a Ross education are the unique, impactful learning experiences that help students thrive throughout their careers. Donors like you made it possible to launch the Business Consultant Corps program that gave more than 120 students virtual summer internships working directly with executives from sponsoring organizations on projects relating to business strategy, digital transformation, marketing, and more.
  • Digital Education: The in-person experience at Ross will always be important. That said, the events of 2020 have reinforced the need for Ross to be a leader in digital business education. At Ross, we were already investing in online learning capabilities when COVID-19 arrived. Our Digital Education Studio offers a 3D immersive environment that creates meaningful connections between faculty, students, and alumni regardless of their location. Your philanthropy will help Ross expand these capabilities and offer digital programs for undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Faculty Support and Retention: Faculty are at the heart of our academic mission. Our faculty are thought leaders who educate our students and create knowledge that shapes the future of business. And to support our award-winning faculty, we rely on your generosity. We need your help to develop and retain our very best faculty.

At Michigan Ross, we are inspired by our mission. We strive for excellence in everything we do. And we are extraordinarily grateful for your generosity and support. We depend on you every academic year, semester, month, week, and day to help us live up to what it means to be the Leaders and Best.

The challenges of 2020 will not deter us. In these unprecedented times, I’m reminded of a powerful insight Sara Mullen, MM ’16, offered this spring to the Michigan Ross class of 2020 as she welcomed them to our alumni community: “You are being released into the wild unknown, but the wild is precisely the place where Wolverines thrive.”

Let’s thrive together.

Thank you, and Go Blue!
