Victors for Michigan:
Final Results
Dear Friends,

I am delighted to share the final results of the Victors for Michigan campaign with you.
As you know, in October 2018, you helped us break records as the first public university to raise $5 billion in the most successful fundraising campaign of our history. Today, we are releasing the final results of the seven and a half year Victors for Michigan campaign.
As of December 31, 2018, more than 398,000 donors gave 2.4 million gifts totaling $5.28 billion, including:
- $1.22 billion for student support, enabling U-M to expand opportunities and enrich the educational experience for the brightest students, regardless of background;
- $1.71 billion for innovative programs in areas such as engaged learning, patient care, music, arts, libraries, and more;
- $1.47 billion for distinguished faculty and research across all 19 schools and colleges, UM-Flint and UM-Dearborn; and
- $676 million for world-class facilities including research laboratories, student housing, classrooms, music/arts venues, athletics and recreation.
I am grateful for the leadership of my predecessor, Jerry May, the vision and support of presidents Mary Sue Coleman and Mark Schlissel, the deans, directors, and regents who championed this campaign along the way, and the dedication of the U-M development team. Most importantly, we could not have achieved this without the tireless efforts of more than 1,600 volunteers around the world, and we personally want to thank every one of you for your time, energy, insights, and leadership.
This spring, a special edition of Leaders & Best magazine will provide an overview of the far-reaching impact of your generosity. We look forward to sharing those stories with you.
Thank you for your wonderful support for this great university of ours.
Go Blue!
Tom Baird
Vice President for Development
